Brief Description

Nowadays – if something is not on the web – it does not exist. Libraries can use blogs to publish an online newsletter, accompanied by a web page containing more static information. User-friendly tools exist which can be used to create your own web presence, and it is no longer required that you have to code the web site. Attend this course and discover how easy web design can be, using existing templates and a WYSIWYG editor. Also learn how to add innovative tools, and monitor the usage and impact of your web site and blog.

Expected Outcomes

After completing this course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between a blog and a web site/page;
  • Create a web site and blog using a web content management system;
  • Create a web site containing web pages;
  • Add content and media to the web pages;
  • Add an online form to a web page;
  • Add tags to the web pages and make it search-engine friendly;
  • Add additional features to the web using plugins;
  • Publish the web page;
  • Register the web page with search engines.
