How to Prepare

You are welcome to bring along your own e-devise, but computers will be available for you to work on. Also bring any existing online communication material with you, incl. photos, logos, event information, and more. Please save on a digital device of your own.

Brief Description

Humans are social beings, and in order to succeed as a society and in our work, we need to communicate with one another. For communication to be successful, there need to be senders and receivers of a specific message. Often the “message” can get distorted, and it can be surrounded by a lot of “noise”. Another aspect to take into account is that some people respond better to visual messages than text messages, and vice versa. Similar to traditional means of communication, online communication can be oral, written or non-verbal.  During this workshop you will learn how to effectively and professionally communicate with your users and other key stakeholders, using different online tools, getting the message across.

Expected Outcomes

After completing this course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Develop a communication strategy & plan;
  • Understand effective communication principles;
  • Use email and mailing lists to communicate with users, incl. email etiquette;
  • Communicate using social media tools; and
  • Communicate using a web page.
