You are welcome to bring along your own e-devise, but computers will be available for you to work on. Also bring any existing marketing material with you, incl. photos, logos, event information, and more. Please save on a digital device of your own. Brief Description

Marketing is not only an action – it is also a mind-set. Successful marketers understand what their users value, want or need and make them aware of those services, projects, events and more. The Internet and digital tools available makes it possible to communicate to existing and prospective users in many ways. This workshop will introduce you to all you need to know to successfully market the library, following a content marketing approach.

Expected Outcomes

After completing this course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between advertising, advocacy and content marketing;
  • Develop a marketing strategy;
  • Compile a marketing plan;
  • Identify new services to market;
  • Use a variety of online tools to develop marketing material (incl. video clips, sound clips, infographics, and more); and
  • Extend marketing to other channels.
